PLEXUS Holdings, the Scottish oil and gas well technology specialist, has won a contract to supply equipment to Royal Dutch Shell for use on an exploration well off China.

The terms have not been finalised.

The award is the first Aberdeen-based Plexus Holdings has won in China.

Chief executive Ben Van Bilderbeek said it was a breakthrough win that was in line with the company's strategy to expand outside its North Sea heartland. He said the contract supported the company's decision to develop a sales and service capability in Asia.

The Aim-listed company has established subsidiaries in Malaysia and Singapore.
