THE chief executive of the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) is delighted a major renewable energy trade show is moving from Aberdeen to Glasgow.

Peter Duthie said he was looking forward to welcoming thousands of visitors to the All-Energy show in May next year.

The event has been held in Aberdeen since it was launched in 2001.

This year's gathering, featuring more than 450 companies exhibiting and 350 speakers, concludes today.

Organisers cited Glasgow's growing reputation as a renewables hub.

They suggested that it would make a number of cost savings which it hopes to be able to pass on to visitors and exhibitors by relocating.

Mr Duthie said: "With the recent expansion of our site we are growing our exhibition business and this news represents the calibre of event we are able to attract."
