SCOTTISH technology consultancy FarrPoint has increased its headcount by hiring technology and security specialists David Myatt, top, and Simon Bennett.
Mr Myatt, who previously worked for Thus, Cable & Wireless and Virgin Media Business, will focus on business development.
Mr Bennett, who joins as a security and network consultant, brings broad experience to the role, having previously worked for ScottishPower, the University of Dundee and Subsea 7 in Aberdeeen.
FarrPoint has also hired Agnieszka Stachowiak as a graduate consultant.
Chief executive Andrew Muir said: "This is a very exciting time of growth for FarrPoint and we are delighted to be welcoming David and Simon as strong experienced additions to our team.
"It also really pleasing to have Agnieszka joining us as we can help develop her skills and provide valuable experience whilst benefitting from young ambitious talent."
Helen keeps it real
LAW firm Brodies has appointed Helen Abrams as an associate in its real estate team.
Ms Abrams brings to the role expertise in acting for developers, occupiers and investors in the residential, leisure and commercial property sectors.
Having spent the last 11 years working for two other firms in Scotland, she has also acted for banks and other funders in large portfolio investment and development projects.
Nick Scott, head of real estate at Brodies, said: "We are extremely pleases that someone with Helen's proven abilities in these key sectors of the real estate market is joining Brodies and offering her expertise to our clients."
New Deloitte partner
ACCOUNTANCY firm Deloitte has appointed a new partner in Scotland to lead its investment management regulatory practice.
Ross Millar, who joined in 2006, heads the firm's investment risk and regulation team in Scotland. He has worked in the financial services sector for more than 15 years, with much of his focus on helping firms design, implement and embed risk and compliance frameworks.
Ian Steele, senior partner for Deloitte Scotland , said: "Ross's experience at the sharp end of financial services makes him an invaluable asset to Deloitte in Scotland and its clients across the UK, which made his promotion to partner a very easy decision."
Board boost
MARKETING Edinburgh has appointed two non-executive directors to its board.
The organisation has engaged the expertise of Billy Percy, customer experience manager at Virgin Money, and Juliana Delaney, above, chief executive of Continuum Group.
Their arrival follows the appointment of Gordon Robertson, director of communications at Edinburgh Airport, as chairman in April.
Mr Robertson said the new directors would be "able tap into their own respective industries while taking a proactive role in growing Edinburgh."
