STRUGGLING Tesco and Morrisons have continued to lose market share in the competitive grocery market.

That was in contrast to Sainsbury's and Asda, which both increased their market positions, according to the latest data from Kantar Worldpanel.

Discounters Aldi and Lidl continued to perform well in the 12 weeks to June 22, with Waitrose and Farmfoods also growing ahead of the overall sector.

The total grocery market grew 2.8 per cent, with price inflation standing at 0.8 per cent in the period.
