DIAGEO has finally completed a deal to take a controlling 54.78 per cent stake in Vijay Mallya's United Spirits in India.
The Johnnie Walker maker said it has paid more than £1.1 billion for the additional 26 per cent stake. Ivan Menezes, the company's chief executive, said: "India has now become one of Diageo's largest markets."
