XJLL's Hotels & Hospitality Group has announced the appointment of Kerr Young and Neil Milligan to key roles in the company.
Mr Young joins as a director, based in Edinburgh, working across the UK, with a particular focus on the hotel markets in both the North of England and Scotland.
And Mr Milligan, above, who is based in Glasgow, has been appointed surveyor and joins from a senior position within HMRC's Valuation Office.
Alasdair Humphery, lead director in Scotland, said: "We're thrilled to announce these appointments, which show our ambition to continue to grow across the country.
"Kerr and Neil will both play a vital role in ensuring comprehensive coverage of the Scottish and wider UK market and we look forward to growing the business further with them."
A change in the LAW
Law At Work (LAW), has added a new business development manager and trainee solicitor to its Edinburgh office.
The employment, human resource and health and safety law specialist has hired Rebecca Sullivan, formerly at pharmaceuticals business Lundbeck, to build its business across the east of Scotland.
Meanwhile recent legal graduate Helen Donnelly joins the employment team to complete her traineeship.Jane Wright, chief executive, said: "Rebecca brings with her a wealth of business development skills while Helen will join our growing employment law team, where she will be mentored by those at a senior level who are strongly committed to investing in future talent within the industry."
London litigation team expands
XMcClure Naismith has appointed Alistair Croft as a partner in the firm's fast-growing dispute resolution unit.
Based in the London office, he will provide litigation and dispute resolution advice to clients based in the firm's London office.
Executive chairman Robin Shannan said: "Alistair is an outstanding litigation lawyer and he has delivered impressive results for an expanding client base.
"His appointment demonstrates the continuing growth of our top-quality London-based commercial litigation practice."
Park life for returning manager
Buccleuch Property has re-hired James Palmer after he returned to Scotland following five years abroad.
Mr Palmer has been working in Kazakhstan, Mongolia and Georgia but has now taken up a post as an associate director in Buccleuch's Edinburgh office.
He will be involved in projects such as the Shawfair new town development and the overhaul of Dalkeith Country Park.
Prior to entering the industry Mr Palmer studied architecture and fine art at Newcastle University before completing MSCs in construction project management and urban real estate management and development at Edinburgh's Heriot-Watt University.
New partner at Lindsays
Law firm Lindsays has added Clair McCracken as a partner in its Glasgow corporate team.
Ms McCracken has previously worked with Tods Murray, Pinsent Masons, HBJ Gateley and DLA Piper.
She has a particular expertise in sports law having advised organisations in both England and Scotland.
Alasdair Cummings, managing partner, said: "Claire is a significant new Partner for the firm, and will help to grow our corporate business, in particular in the SME sector, in Glasgow."
