SCOTTISH HydroElectric owner SSE has signed its first contract that means all employees working regularly on a company site are paid at least the Living Wage, set at £7.65 per hour in Scotland.
The deal covers more than 100 employees working for contractors the Perth-based giant is using on a £3million project to insulate over 500 properties in the city. They plan to roll out the Living Wage in service and works contracts across its £2bn-a-year supply chain. The rate is set by the Living Wage Foundation, which is supported by big firms such as KPMG and Aviva.
