FANCY dress maker Morph-suits is spending around £1 million on a rebranding and marketing campaign.

The Edinburgh business, founded in 2009 by brothers Ali and Fraser Smeaton and their flatmate Gregor Lawson, will now be known as MorphCostumes to reflect the growing number of design categories it is involved in.

Alongside that, it is investing in expanding its product range as well as a revamped website and packaging.

The company already has licences in place for cos-tumes for Tetris blocks and Marvel superheroes, with more recent innovations incorporating digital technology and smartphone apps.

Creative agency Mr President were employed to come up with the new brand. Mr Lawson said the original one colour spandex morphsuits will still be sold, but the business is increasingly moving into different areas.

He said: "By rebranding to MorphCostumes, we open up a lot more possibilities and we are very excited to see where this takes the brand."

The company has also struck a deal with YouTube prankster Magic of Rahat which will see him design Halloween costumes.
