CHEMICALS group Ineos has seen a rise in quarterly underlying earnings.

The company, which operates one of the UK’s largest manufacturing sites at Grangemouth, said earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation were €610 million in the three months to the end of June.

That was up on the €447m recorded in the same period last year and the €503m booked between January and March this year.

It said North American markets remained strong while it has benefited from a weaker euro in Europe. Asian markets were said to be subdued.
