Shaw is sales chief at Scottish Fine Soaps Company

THE Scottish Fine Soaps Company has strengthened its management team with the appointment of Stephanie Shaw as UK sales manager.

Ms Shaw, who has more than 17 years experience in luxury and beauty brands, joins from LVMH Fragrance Brands. There she held a number of senior sales positions over a 13 year-period managing accounts with companies such as Alliance Boots, Harrods and Selfridges.

Before that Ms Shaw was based in France and worked for YSL Beauty in Neuilly overseeing travel retail for brands such as Yves Saint Laurent, Van Cleef & Arpels, Oscar de La Renta, Roger & Gallet and Givenchy S.A in Levallois.

At The Scottish Fine Soaps Company, she is responsible for managing and growing the Company’s sales division, key accounts and building domestic sales, as well as supporting international sales and distribution.

Clyde brings in creative head

BAUER Media Group has appointed Graeme McKellar as head of creative at Radio Clyde.

The hire comes shortly after the media giant appointed John-Paul Hughes to the new role of group head of creative across Bauer’s City Network.

Mr McKellar joins Radio Clyde from STV, and before working for the Scottish television station worked at GMG Radio (then Real & Smooth Radio) for eight years.

He brings extensive knowledge of creative advertising to his new role, having worked on campaigns across traditional and digital channels for local businesses and national brands.

Mr McKellar said: “I’m thrilled to be offered this position and to be part of such a strong team.

“My role will involve working closely with our clients to create bespoke advertising strategies specific to their individual needs. We are a one-stop-shop for our clients, working with them from day one right through to implementation, whether on radio, online, in print, or elsewhere.”

Testing specialist hires seasoned operator

PETERHEAD-based Independent Oilfield Services has hired Richard Torliefson as its drillpipe inspector and ultrasonic testing operator.

The move by the storage and inspection firm takes its headcount to 40.

Mr Torliefson brings considerable non-destructive testing (NDT) experience to IOS and is a certified magnetic particle (MPI), liquid penetrant (LPI) and UT inspector, having worked for major service companies in the oil and gas industry.

Glynn Geddie, business development manager at IOS, said: “We are delighted to have Richard on board and with a strong skillset in NDT, his knowledge and technical expertise will be invaluable to the inspection team at the yard.”

Mr Torliefson said: “I’m really looking forward to working for IOS and bringing fresh ideas and an efficient approach to the inspection team. The IOS yard in Peterhead is one of the largest tubular supply bases I have ever worked on and I’m sure there are a lot of exciting projects to come.”
