Total is selling £585m North Sea assets as the company looks to raise cash and cut costs amid the fall in the crude price.

The French giant has agreed to sell its interests in the St Fergus gas terminal in Aberdeenshire and two pipelines linked to fields off northern Scotland to North Sea Midstream Partners, which is backed by US financiers.
