Sandy Finlayson, 64, has stepped down as senior partner at MBM Commercial. Stuart Hendry, 42, a co-founder of the management buy-out from Murray Beith Murray 10 years ago, takes over the firm which has six partners and 24 staff in Edinburgh and London. MBM has won awards for its work with high-growth companies and investors including the creation of several new investment funds, and has specialised in banking disputes. Head of litigation Cat McLean was Solicitor of the Year in the 2015 Law Awards of Scotland following the firm’s landmark Supreme Court win for bankrupt developer Derek Carlyle. MBM was also one of the first ‘cloud-based’ law firms in the UK.
