Wind farms create local jobs
Banks Renewables has appointed Hamilton-based Raeburn Drilling to help it deliver two wind farms in south Lanarkshire.
The appointment follows last year’s launch of the Connect2Renewables Charter which committed South Lanarkshire council to prioritising local business and supporting the unemployed.
Anne Baxter, chief executive of family-owned Raeburn, said the contract had already enabled the firm to take on new apprentices and graduates.
The firm employs 180 while Banks Group employs 400 in energy, property and mining.
