The Leith Agency is to head up the global advertising and media account for The Famous Grouse.

Edrington Group, owner of The Famous Grouse, has given Edinburgh based Leith responsibility for above the line (ATL), below the line (BTL) and digital activity for the whisky.

The Famous Grouse is exported to more than 100 countries and Leith has already been involved in developing the brand’s new ‘Famous for a reason’ campaign.

Alison Tuck, global marketing manager for The Famous Grouse, said: “Leith showed a clear understanding and passion for the brand and we’re delighted to be working with them on a retained basis at such an important time for The Famous Grouse.”

Richard Marsham, group managing partner at The Leith Agency, said: “The Famous Grouse is one of those global brands that we’ve always dreamed about working on.

“And to win not only the ATL account, but also the BTL and digital account is a testimony to the way we think as an agency.”

While Mr Marsham said the relationship is at an early stage he expects The Famous Grouse to be one of the top three clients at the agency.

He indicated Leith is already looking at recruiting additional staff as further account wins are in the pipeline.

Mr Marsham added: “Although very much based in Scotland and with a lot of Scottish clients we have ambitions to do work that is shown around the world.”

Leith, which employs 85, is part of AIM-listed Cello Group.
