Edinburgh Woollen Mill, the clothing retail group, has announced plans to open another 100 stores in the next two years after posting record results.

Based in Langholm in the Scottish Borders, the group made £91.2m pre-tax profit in the year to 28 February, up 28 per cent on the £71.3m achieved in the preceding year.

The results cover a year during which the group, which also owns the Peacocks chain, opened 71 stores.

It has around 1,000 stores currently.
