Lloyds Banking Group has appointed two financial services heavyweights to its board as non-executive directors.

Deborah McWhinney held several senior roles at Citibank, Visa International and Bank of America as well as Engage Media Services.

Stuart Sinclair has chief executive of GE Capital’s consumer finance division and ran Tesco Personal Finance when it was still part of Royal Bank of Scotland.

Mr Sinclair is stepping down from his non-executive director role at TSB Banking Group.

Lloyds said Dyfrig John will not stand for re-election to its board at its annual general meeting next year.
