TOWER Bakery, the Perth-based baker, has signed a deal with Tesco to supply a selection of stores across Perth, Dundee and Dunfermline.
The family-run business will supply products including rolls, butteries, scones, crumpets, doughnuts and yum yums.
Tesco local buying manager Craig Chalmers said more shoppers were now looking for local, traditional products.
As well as the bakery in Perth, which uses traditional craft methods with products made by hand, Tower Bakery has ten shops across Clackmannanshire, Perth, Crieff, Coupar Angus and Alyth.
“When we get a Tesco order in, we’ll bake what’s required and when it has cooled, it will go straight out to the store,” said senior manager Denise McKinnon, who runs the business with her sister Debbie and brother David.
