Experts from Google, Microsoft, Barclays and Communications Electronic Security Group (CESG) will meet over 150 small and medium-sized businesses at a conference in Glasgow on March 9.

‘Discover Digital 2016 - How technology is changing small business today’, will be held at the University of Strathclyde’s new Technology and Innovation Centre, and opened by Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure, Investment and Cities Keith Brown MSP.

The event aims to raise awareness of how digital technologies can improve productivity and performance across different business functions, and how they are changing companies, markets, sectors and customers.

Andy Willox, FSB’s Scottish policy convenor, said: “Many of the most impressive and fastest growing Scottish businesses are smaller operators who have made the most of new digital technologies.

"There’s nothing stopping nimble Scottish independent firms using this new kit to outmanoeuvre their larger competitors. We’d urge all sorts of Scottish firms to tap into this new support to make sure they’re not left behind.”

Delegates will also hear about programmes such as Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband and DigitalBoost, which offers over 550 fully-funded workshops across Scotland as well one to one training for eligible businesses.
