Charities specialist joins Standard Life Wealth

Fund manager Standard Life Wealth has appointed Julie Hutchison to work in its charities department.

Ms Hutchison joins from Standard Life where she was a consumer finance expert. After qualifying as a lawyer, she specialised in tax and private client work, including philanthropy and the creation and management of charities.

TenTel fills top posts

Edinburgh-based challenger telecoms company TenTel has announced two senior appointments as the business gears up for rapid expansion in 2016.

Daniel Halliday has been promoted to Finance Director and Scott Mackay has joined as Customer Director. The appointments complete the company’s senior management team and follow its growth from just three staff to over 50 employees in the two years since it was launched.

Mr Halliday joined TenTel as its third employee in 2014 and has been instrumental in securing over £2 million in start-up investment. His new remit includes IT and software development, data and reporting, and acquisitions.

Mr Mackay previously worked with letting agents and property managers at the Glasgow Housing Association.

TenTel specialises in no-contract and short-term contract telephone and broadband provision. The company recently moved to new premises in Edinburgh.

New finance chief for First Bus

Aberdeen-based First Bus has appointed James Bowen as its new Finance Director.

Mr Bowen has worked for First Bus for eight years and was most recently Regional Finance Director for the business in southern England and Wales. He will replace Interim Finance Director Chris Taft.

Mr Bowen started his career with Ernst & Young where he qualified as a chartered accountant and worked in the UK and Australia. His career developed with senior finance roles at Compel Group and the RBS before joining First Bus in 2007.
