Gama Aviation, listed on the Alternative Investment Market after a reverse takeover of private jet operator Hangar 8, has reported a maiden pre-tax profit of $6.9million (£4m). Gama, one of the world’s biggest aviation service providers, has a base at Aberdeen Airport for its 25-year contract with the Scottish Ambulance Service. It recently received planning permission for a new hangar there, and also has two hangars at Glasgow International Airport.

Gama warned that the European market remains ‘soft’", hindered by a cautious economic outlook and various political uncertainties. The combined businesses suffered a loss of $11.3m (£6.6m) in the previous year. Revenue grew from $169m to $236m (£100m to £139m).
