NEWSQUEST, owner of The Herald and Evening Times, has won 2016 Most Innovative Publisher at The Drum’s Digital Trading Awards ceremony, attended by the great and the good of the UK’s digital advertising industry in London last night.

The Drum is one of the UK’s leading media and marketing publishers and runs a series of prestigious media awards for agencies, publishers and brands across the UK. The Digital Trading Awards recognise and highlight the best examples of digital trading in practice.

Newsquest’s entry was based on innovative work on Display Ad Products, launched last year. This has enabled the company’s local sales teams to offer smaller, local advertisers highly targeted digital display campaigns.

Henry Faure Walker, Newsquest chief executive, said: “The fact that we have taken the type of ad targeting technology, normally only used by larger display brands, and packaged it into easy-to-sell and highly responsive ad products for a wide range of local businesses, was a big tick for the judges.”
