STAGECOACH chief executive Martin Griffiths saw his remuneration fall by 9.3 per cent to £1.3 million last year, according to the group's annual report. The drop came as a result of consolidated profit before tax and interest falling short of a “demanding” target, which led to 23.3 per cent of a possible 70 per cent of salary being paid in annual bonus. There was no long-term incentive plan this year.

The company’s chairman Sir Brian Souter received £209,000 in pay. He also received £286 in home telephone expenses.
