TWO Aberdeen equipment rental businesses are to merge to create a global player in the oil and gas services market with turnover of more than £100m.

Centurion Group and ATR Group will retain their brands and the new group will be headquartered in Aberdeen with ATR’s chief executive, Keith Moorhouse, and chief financial officer, Euan Leask, retaining those roles in the new company. Centurion’s acting chief executive Peter Stuart will take on the role of chairman of the combined entity, while Alan MacLeod, Centurion’s chief financial officer, will be director of integration.
