ENTREPRENEUR Hugh Caldwell has created a shared working space in Edinburgh where up to 42 businesses can get inspiration from each other and said he may develop a similar facility in Glasgow. The Codesk facility offers a workstation area, internet access and support facilities. Mr Caldwell said: “The space is designed to be both professional and sociable so people can focus on work but also benefit from the support and inspiration they can offer one another.” He added: “We have created a business platform which I’m keen to potentially roll out in Glasgow and then to other major cities across the UK.” Mr Caldwell expects Codesk to attract start-ups, small businesses and people working for themselves. The facility is based on a model developed in the USA, amid rapid growth in the numbers of freelance workers and so-called ‘solopreneurs’.
