DECOM North Sea has launched a website to support the oil and gas industry plan and execute late late and decommissioning projects.

The Late Life Planning Portal – known as L2P2 – is designed to provide a single access point for knowledge sharing and cross sector learning.

Decom North Sea, the representative body for the decommissioning sector, said it reflects the overarching objective to bring regulators, operators and the supply chain together in the North Sea to collaborate on decommissioning projects.

Chief executive Roger Esson said: “Decommissioning is a long game, with over 40 years of decommissioning activity yet to take place and around 90 per cent of North Sea assets yet to be decommissioned.#

"For that to happen as efficiently and as cost-effectively as possible in the long term, we need to make good decisions in the Late Life phase."
