SCOTTISH cloud computing specialist Iomart has said its revenue and profits for the six months to September are expected to be “materially ahead” of the comparative period last year.

Glasgow-based Iomart struck an upbeat tone as it said it had seen strong demand for its services as enterprises continued to move their services into the cloud.

It added: “The market opportunity remains strong and we are well positioned to take advantage of it. The board is confident in the outlook for the full year and optimistic for continued success.”

In the six months to September 2015, Iomart made underlying pre-tax profits of £8.7 million on revenues of £36.4m.

Shares in Iomart rose 1p to 278p after the trading update.
