ENERGETICS, the utilities services firm, has unveiled a new executive team as its financial backer, Macquarie Group, aims to realise ambitious growth plans.

The changes were precipitated by the retirement of chief executive Bill McClymont.

He has been replaced by Mike Pierce, who has been recruited from Brookfield Utilities, where he served as chief operating officer.

The Hamilton-based business has also created two new executive positions: Graham McCall was appointed chief financial officer in May, and Steve Morris has been promoted to chief operating officer

In addition, Graham Jenkins has been named as a non-executive director. Formerly a director at Inexus and managing director of Connect Utilities, he has joined the firm as a special advisor to the executive team.

Ahead of his standing down, Mr McClymont said her was proud of his achievements at Energetics.

Having been founded in 2006, the company operates from five offices across the UK, providing gas, electricity and water connection services for residential and commercial developers. The company employs 500 staff.

“Together with the team we have navigated a path that has transformed the business into a leading, fully integrated multi-utility connections provider,” he said.

Hamish Jones, non-executive director at Energetics and senior managing director of Macquarie Lending, thanked Mr McClymont for his “significant contribution” to the development of the business, adding: “He has laid firm foundations for strong, continued expansion and growth”.
