PAISLEY-BASED Clark Contracts has reported contract wins worth £25 million in the last six months.

The construction, refurbishment and maintenance contractor highlighted the refurbishment of the Northern Lighthouse Board’s headquarters in Edinburgh’s George Street,and the A listed Kilmardinny Arts Centre in Bearsden, Glasgow, among the projects it has secured work on.

Clark has been appointed by Deafblind Scotland to build the £1.5m Field of Dreams in Lenzie, a learning and development facility for those with dual sensory impairment.

And it is currently fitting out the new office for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) at 110 Queen Street in Glasgow.

The ACCA, which is moving its 650 staff to Queen Street from its current offices in Central Quay and Hydepark Street, will join firms such as Brodies, Deloitte and Grant Thornton at the CONNECT110NS building.

Gordon Cunningham, managing director of Clark Contracts said: “It has been fantastic to welcome so many new customers.

“We are always keen to maintain a positive mix of orders from new and returning customers and the combination of these new orders will make a very significant contribution to our performance this year.”

Clark said it is working on the £1.8m refurbishment of the former education headquarters in Greenock, and has secured two new orders for Lidl in Edinburgh and Arbroath.

The company, which has offices in the east and west of Scotland, made a pre-tax profit of more than £1m in the year ended October 31.

That came in a year which saw Clark hike turnover by 16 per cent to £46.3m.
