CRYSTAL Amber has ramped up its stake in STV to nearly 14 per cent after buying its second big batch of shares in two days.
Shares in STV had fallen by 1.6 per cent by the close of trading last night after the activist investor acquired a further 1.51 million shares in the Glasgow-based broadcaster.
Crystal, which has amassed a 6.74 per cent stake in The Scotsman publisher Johnston Press, had increased its shareholding in STV to 10.03 per cent from 7.8 per cent on Monday.
The moves come after a weekend press report suggested the fund has become dissatisfied with STV’s share price performance.
