HAMPDEN & Co, the Edinburgh-based private bank, has snapped up sector veteran Mark Prentice to lead its banking team in Scotland.

Mr Prentice, who has worked for Lloyds Banking Group, TSB, ABN Amro and Clydesdale Bank, is the latest in a string of high-profile hires at the boutique bank.

His appointment comes after David Bell, Graeme Morris and Alastair Hazell joined from The Co-operative Bank and Clydesdale before Christmas.

Mr Prentice has returned to full-time banking employment at Hampden after a freelance stint following his departure from a senior role in Lloyds’ corporate banking division in Scotland.
