VENTURE capital firm Scottish Equity Partners has announced a “significant donation” to a fund which invests in businesses run by staff, students and alumni of the University of Strathclyde.

The Strathclyde Entrepreneurs Fund provides early-stage investment in companies and ventures involving members of the University of Strathclyde’s community. It has backed companies including information technology firm Cojengo, which produces apps enabling farmers in Africa to have disease in their livestock diagnosed and treated, and personal safety alarm company Pick Protection.

SEP managing director Calum Paterson said: “We are delighted to support this...fund, which will encourage more entrepreneurship.”
