BEATTIE Communications Group increased profits by around six per cent in its 30th anniversary year helped by winning new clients. The public relations and marketing group grew pre-tax profits to £624,000 in the year to 31 July, from £590,000 in the preceding period. Sales increased seven per cent, to £9.3 million from £8.7m. New clients won during the year included retail chain Smiggle and Discovery Channel. Chief executive Laurna Woods said highlights of the year included the firm announcing its expansion into Canada and opening The Beattie Bootcamp training facility in Falkirk. She noted: “While we cannot predict the impact of Brexit on us or the economy, 2017 promises to be another flourishing year for Beattie.” The average monthly number of employees at thegroup rose to 87 in the latest financial year from 85 last time.
