EY exec joins Scott-Moncrief

IN RECOGNITION of the growing importance of business technology, accountants Scott-Moncrieff has hired Fraser Nicol from EY as partner to lead its business technology consulting (BTC) practice team.
At EY, as executive director, Mr Nicol played a central role in developing technology risk consulting, cyber security and data analytic services. 
Based in Glasgow, but also working across Scott-Moncrieff’s offices in Edinburgh and Inverness, Mr Nicol will be tasked with implementing Scott-Moncrieff’s strategy to build the strongest business technology consulting practice in Scotland. This includes new client services in data analytics, cyber-crime, programme assurance and digital transformation. 
With almost 20 years’ experience, working both in consultancy and industry, Fraser has provided advice to government and FTSE boards. 
Stewart MacDonald, managing partner of Scott-Moncrieff said: “Fraser’s appointment will invigorate our already busy business technology team, and allow us to expand this service in line with growing client demand and rapidly developing technology.”

Edinburgh property firm grows

IME Property has brought in a senior consultant as it aims to grow the business in 2017.
The Edinburgh-based agency has announced the appointment of Bill Adams, who has been operating as a freelance property consultant and investment advisor since 2008.
The 54-year-old recently left DM Hall and previously held the post as director of residential development & investment Scotland at Colliers CRE from 2005 to 2008. 
He had also previously worked as a business sales agent at Christie & Co before embarking on his freelance career.
IME Property managing director, Iain Mercer, believes the addition of Mr Adams as consultant will assist in their organic growth plans. 
He said: “Bill is a welcome addition to the team at IME and we are delighted he has chosen to join us.
“He brings with him a wealth of knowledge, experience and contacts in a number of sectors which will be vital as we continue to grow IME’s services across Scotland and beyond.”

A first for HouseMark Scotland

HOUSEMARK Scotland, which analyses data in the housing sector, has appointed its first chairman, with the advisory board confirming Hanover (Scotland) Housing Association chief executive Helen Murdoch in the position. 
Ms Murdoch has been in her current position since 2007 and first joined the housing association in 1995 as director of housing and care services. 
Her appointment comes as HouseMark Scotland continues to grow its membership of registered social landlords across local authorities and housing associations.
Head of HouseMark Scotland Kirsty Wells said: “It’s fantastic to be able to welcome someone with Helen’s excellent reputation, breadth and depth of knowledge, and experience as our first chair.
