LAW firm Aberdein Considine has hailed its ability to offer legal services across the UK for the first time, after sealing a long-term collaboration agreement with Northern Irish litigation and debt recovery specialist Wilson Nesbitt.

Aberdein Considine noted the alliance in Northern Ireland followed its acquisition of Newcastle firm Wallers Solicitors last year. It declared that the latest agreement allows it to offer a “seamless debt and asset recovery, litigation, and conveyancing service across all three of the UK’s legal jurisdictions”.

The Aberdeen-based firm added that its expansion across the UK had been driven by its work with banks and other lenders, which were aiming increasingly to streamline their recovery panels.

Aberdein Considine, which also has offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling and Perth, provides legal services to Royal Bank of Scotland, Bank of Scotland owner Lloyds Banking Group, and Santander.

Rob Aberdein, the law firm’s UK partner in charge of lender services, said: “We already act for some of the UK’s biggest lenders in Scotland, and this deal brings our customer, compliance and regulatory-focused debt and asset recovery and conveyancing services into the entire UK legal market for the first time.

“The agreement allows us to provide legal services to lenders across all jurisdictions and will see both firms integrate compliance frameworks and case management systems in order to deliver a seamless, multi-jurisdiction service.”

The Wallers deal gave Aberdein Considine its first foothold in the English and Welsh legal markets, enabling expansion of its corporate conveyancing, litigation, and debt and asset recovery services.
