Strathclyde Business School (SBS) has a long and proud history of being an innovative business school - and part of a leading technological university - with 'useful learning' at its heart.

SBS was named Business School of the Year in the Times Higher Education 2016 awards announced in November.

The award was made in recognition of the Business School’s innovative and entrepreneurial attitude and its overall ‘outstanding’ performance.
The school’s MBA programme is highly-regarded.

The Herald:

The business school is triple accredited, holding accreditation from the three accrediting bodies. EQUIS and AACSB accredit the business school as a whole while AMBA accredits the MBA programmes.

SBS has again been ranked in the prestigious Financial Times’ global ranking of full-time MBA programmes.

Strathclyde is one of just 13 UK business schools to be included in the final ranking of the top 100 programmes worldwide, with 156 schools participating in this year's process.

Students who choose our MBA programme can opt for full-time, part-time or flexible learning study options. Our full time programme is studied over 12 months in Glasgow amongst a group of international peers and involves nine months of participation in classes, group work and personal development processes and three months for the MBA project.

The Herald:

The part time programme is ideal for anyone who wants to fit the MBA programme around their career and the part–time MBA is offered mainly through evening class twice weekly with four compulsory weekend schools spread over the period of study.

Typically part timers complete their degree in around three years. A major strength of the part time route is that course members can investigate issues at work through the various classes and put what they learn on the MBA into practice immediately.

They also offer a flexible learning option which allows individuals to direct the pace of their own studies while providing the level of support that an internationally recognised school can offer.

The Herald:

The Flexible Learning MBA offers a balance between self-study and group interaction, and we encourage peer interaction and group learning through workshops and seminars which gives those on the programme the opportunity to meet with their peers.

The MBA also provides opportunities throughout for students to get involved through industry engagement. The Strathclyde MBA project gives students the opportunity to examine in depth a managerial, organisational or environmental issue over a two month period.

Students analyse and research a strategic work issue, often based within an organisation.

The businesses involved are getting the benefit of the experienced MBA students at no or very little costs to the business and ending up with a practical, creative and innovative solution to their business project or issue.

The Herald:

Businesses can be assured that students on the MBA programme are high calibre students from around the world who have sufficient managerial experience and relevant qualifications to make a positive difference to their business.

Whichever route you choose, there are a range of scholarships available – for full-time the closing date is May 31, and there are scholarships on offer until September 1 for part time and flexible learning routes.
