SCOTLAND'S TOWNS: New Towns
Today’s 21st century world, the pace of life, and people’s expectations are very different from the post-war era and housing problems that gave us Scotland’s New Towns. This supplement examines in more detail the progress that the five major New Towns made throughout the decades since their formation, explore some of the issues that arose as they developed – and perhaps we can learn some lessons that can be taken on board for the future.
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?

We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
