£1.8m for Direct Line chief

THE Direct Line Group chief executive took home a pay package worth £1.86 million in 2012.

The firm's annual report shows Paul Geddes received a base salary of £671,000 across the year which included eight months as a Royal Bank of Scotland employee. He got a £760,000 bonus, £189,000 of pension contributions or equivalent payments and £44,000 of other benefits.
