ADMINISTRATORS for failed law firm Semple Fraser say more than 70% of lawyers made redundant have found new jobs.

Around 30 staff, including partners and senior lawyers, were immediately taken on by other firms when Semple Fraser collapsed.

However, 25 lawyers and 37 support staff lost their jobs when insolvency proceedings were announced on March 8.

Administrator RSM Tenon said 18 of the 25 solicitors put out of work have found new roles.

It is not known how many of the administrative staff have found work.

Tom MacLennan, from RSM Tenon in Scotland, said: "We are pleased at the progress made since the administration and grateful to those firms that have moved so quickly to provide employment for former staff."
