ABERDEEN Asset Management has obtained regulatory approval to buy 80 per cent of Indonesia's PT NISP Asset Management,the company has confirmed.

Aberdeen obtained the go-ahead from regulators yesterday and the deal, announced last February, is expected to complete within weeks. NISP Asset Management is controlled by Indonesia's Surjaudaja family and manages around $300 million (£184m). Aberdeen, which managed £322 billion at the half-year, said at the weekend it was considering a US acquisition in the real-estate sector.
