Apex refinances two sites

Apex Hotels has refinanced two of its sites in sale and leaseback agreements.

The Apex City of London was sold for £18.65 million to Standard Life's annuity fund and the Waterloo Place hotel in Edinburgh was bought by CBRE Global Investors for £10m.

Both deals secure occupancy for Apex for the next 150 years.

Angela Vickers, managing director of Apex, said: "These deals have given Apex Hotels the opportunity to refinance and reduce our reliance on bank debt, while ensuring the ongoing operation of the properties through leaseback arrangements."
