Babcock preferred bidder for London Fire Brigade contract

Engineering support services group Babcock International has been named as preferred bidder for a 21-year contract to manage London Fire Brigade's fleet of 500 vehicles and 50,000 pieces of specialist equipment from November, following an initial interim deal awarded in November 2012.

Babcock said it would invest in an existing site in Ruislip and a new facility at Greenwich to provide state-of-the-art facilities for management and maintenance of the fleet.
