Last Tuesday's 7-1 licensing committee vote in favour of the new pub and eatery in Spittal Street has been divisive to say the least.
The chief pro is that it will inject £1.5 million into the old commercial heart of the town. It will also spruce up one of central Scotland's most detested buildings, a run-down 1970s tax office that only a lunatic would have allowed to scar the townscape. The main con is that Stirling is already the regional capital of binge drinking.
