beCogent plans to employ 450 at fifth contact centre in Scotland

THE French company that bought beCogent in 2010 plans to open a fifth contact centre in Scotland that will employ around 450 people to keep pace with demand.

The chief executive of Teleperformance's UK operations, Alistair Niederer, told The Herald the company plans to open a site in the "wider region of Edinburgh" to start operating in the first quarter of 2013.

The final decision will be influenced by negotiations regarding a big potential contract.
