Cake firm's sales crumble

THE maker of Mr Kipling cakes and Ambrosia desserts has felt the impact of the supermarket sector's troubles with a 6.2% drop in quarterly sales.

Premier Foods, which also owns Bisto gravy and Angel Delight, said sales came in at £186.3 million in the three months to the end of March but it remains on track to hit annual targets.
