CRAIG Clark, the founder and chief executive of Clyde Space, has been named as the winner of the Baird of Bute Society's Scottish innovation award.

Clyde Space, which designs and builds small and micro spacecraft systems, made history when it launched Scotland's first satellite, Ukube-1, on a Russian Soyuz-2 rocket from Baikaonur, Kazakhstan. Mr Clark said he hopes the production of spacecraft in Scotland "will inspire a new generation of engineers, scientist, mathematicians and physicists".
