Clydesdale gives £1m funding for new Sikh temple

CLYDESDALE Bank is providing more than £1 million of funding for Scotland's biggest Sikh temple or Gurdwara, which is under construction in the Charing Cross area of Glasgow.

It is lending the money to the Gurdwara committee, which is responsible for all aspects of running the temple. The exact amount provided by Clydesdale for the new 100,000 sq ft Gurdwara was not disclosed, although the bank said it was a "seven-figure" package.
