Clark Contracts, the Paisley-based construction, refurbishment and maintenance company, has continued to thrive in a tough climate with more than £15 million of new business in the quarter to the end of August.

The new work ranges from a legal office fit-out to a community clubhouse. Gordon Cunningham, managing director, said: "It remains a challenging time for the building and construction industry and so we are especially pleased that this latest group of new orders has maintained the momentum which saw us start the new year with some great contract wins."

Following a successful fit-out of law firm McGrigors office in Glasgow's International Financial Services District, Pinsent Masons LLP, who recently merged with McGrigors, gave Clark the job of fitting out its Aberdeen office in Queens Road.

East Ayrshire Council awarded two contracts worth over £2.4m including rendering works to housing and upgrading work at Muirkirk Primary School. One of the biggest awards was a £1.5m contract to design and build a new clubhouse, changing pavilion and Fifa-standard football pitch for Kilwinning Community Sports Club.

Following the company's re-appointment on the University of Strathclyde's framework, Clark Contracts won nine projects totalling more than £850,000, and also landed projects under the Glasgow University framework.

New work was also secured from Loretto Housing Association, Dunedin Canmore Housing Association, Scottish Prison Service, Tribunals Service, Sportscotland, Vue Cinemas, NHS National Services Scotland and seven local authorities.
