EDINBURGH-based financial sector recruitment company Core-Asset Consulting has established a team dedicated to serving third-party administrators, global custodians and investment "platform" providers based in Scotland

This new investment operations team will handle recruitment for permanent posts in these firms, which was previously managed between Core-Asset Consulting's asset management and financial services divisions.

Core-Asset said Emma Cormack, a senior consultant within its wider financial services division, would be responsible for recruiting for "mid-level roles" with annual pay of between £27,000 and £55,000.

She will be assisted by Calum Nicol, who joined Core-Asset as an associate consultant on March 2. Mr Nicol will work alongside Ms Cormack on "entry-level roles" paying up to £27,000 per annum.

Core-Asset said Louise Powrie, director of financial services, would continue to recruit for "senior" posts paying more than £55,000 per annum and would have overall responsibility for managing the team.

The investment operations team will focus on roles in areas including trading and settlements, reconciliations, dealing, business analysis, project management and information technology.

Betsy Williamson, managing director of Core-Asset Consulting, said: "Scotland continues to be a location of choice for investment operations and asset-servicing. Many third-party administrators (TPAs) and global custodians have created centres of excellence here, particularly in terms of specialist, experienced staff providing oversight functions for international operations. We believe Scotland will continue to see growth in this important area of the financial services industry.

"In response, we have taken a strategic decision to provide a more dedicated service to TPAs, custodians and platform providers. This is in recognition of the unique recruitment demands that these organisations have."

Core-Asset said the newly-established team would also support, when required, its asset management division, where middle and back-office assignments required investment operations expertise.
