DIRECTORS' pay at BrewDog soared by nearly 57 per cent to £451,370 in the craft brewer's most recent financial year, according to accounts newly filed at Companies House.

The accounts also reveal an increase in pay for the company's highest-paid director, whose remuneration increased to £129,080 in the year ended December 31. The highest-paid director had received remuneration of £100,000 the year before.

BrewDog's directors include co-founders James Watt and Martin Dickie.

The accounts show that the Ellon-based brewer, currently looking to raise £25 million it its latest crowdfunding drive, employed an average 277 in the year, up from 186 in 2013.

The company's total employment costs rose to £6.4m from £3.7m, according to the report.

BrewDog saw pre-tax profits rise to £3.65m from £2.36m over the year, with turnover leaping to £29.6m from £18.1m. The directors described 2014 as "another epic year" for the business.
