Television post production business Editworks Scotland is investing £200,000 in new editing and audio suites which will help it create eight jobs.

The Glasgow company has worked on programmes such as the Sarah Millican TV Show, Jedward's Big Adventure and The National Lottery In It To Win It.

The expansion, part funded by £68,000 of Regional Selective Assistance from Scottish Enterprise, extends the number of edit suites from nine to 12 and doubles the capacity of the audio facilities.

Andrew Barrett, chairman of EW Scotland, said: "We see Scotland, and specifically Glasgow and its Digital Media Quarter, as a superb place to house our operations thanks to the facilities, culture and opportunities that Scotland's vibrant broadcast sector offers.

"We have worked hard to forge strong links with local production companies and we will continue to engage, train and employ local talent. This approach has proved to be successful so far.

"We look forward to bringing additional household TV programmes to be produced and post produced in Scotland."

Graham Hutchings, director, said: "We are currently looking for editing staff, and the response has been overwhelming from very highly motivated applicants. I have literally had applications from all over Scotland and mainland Europe."
